Palapas Bar and Grill: Savor Authentic Mexican Cuisine in Cumming, GA

We were just passing through the area and decided to stop by here based on Google reviews. The food was delicious. Fresh, Good Quality. We got seated instantly, the staff was great. I ended up getting two dishes and by brother in law got the fish tacos. (the one with the avocado). He said the flavors don't really work with each other well, and the fish was a little dry. He really liked the tocos I ordered. I absolutely loved the two dishes I got. I even orded the an additional taco meal to go because they were so good. 3 tacos for like $14. I'll definitely be coming back here if I'm in town.

We stopped here on the way back from Gibbs garden and boy was it the best decision there was. As hungry party of 6 including two little kids we wanted something quick and good and ordered a house special Texan bowl, vegetarian burrito bowl, chipotle salmon and shrimp tacos. The portion sizes were big to feed two per plate, the service was faaaast and food was awesome! I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants to try authentic yummy Mexican food. Everyone was super hungry so ended up with only one pic of the shrimp tacos

First visit, I wasn't super impressed. The good. Clean, fast seating, large menu, good decor, good health score, polite and initially attentive. The not-so-good. The fajitas were kinda bland, with very few veggies, and a bit on the pricey side for what they were. The flour tortillas were brittle on the edges like they had been microwaved... anyway they weren't grilled. The service started off good but by the end of the meal I literally could not get the waiter to look over, he just kept leaning on a back counter and staring off into space... finally, another waiter helped us to get his attention so we could pay the bill and leave. Oh, they have weird refried beans too, very soupy and tasted like tomato... served in a small taco bowl probably because they are thin and runny. All in all it was ok, but nothing really compels me to come back anytime soon.

Palapas is my favorite of all the local Mexican restaurants I frequent. Just look at the plates! Service is always quick and friendly and they have an extensive menu to choose from. I have yet to have a dish I didn’t care for from them. Definitely give them a try.

This place is amazing. The chips are light and crispy and they come with 2 kinds of salsa. Free refills on both. The food was amazing and my burrito bowl came with an orchid! I also had leftovers to take home, so I got 2 meals from one dish.

All I can say is Wow! Finally found my favorite Mexican restaurant and so close by! The food is fantastic, including the chips and salsa! The margaritas are the best ever and the wait staff is So friendly! There is never a wait to be seated and the atmosphere is very inviting. Now the best kept secret is out!

We had a truly wonderful experience at this lovely place. It was so nice to sit outside with our dog in such a clean and inviting atmosphere. The service was exceptional, and the staff was genuinely friendly and attentive. My favorite dish was the Beria soup—it was absolutely incredible! The chips and salsa were fresh and delightful, and Carmelita went above and beyond by sharing how the soup was made and where to find the ingredients. We can't wait to return!
